Arsenal 'set to bid' on Manchester United striker Anthony Martial if Kylian Mbappe snubs them

Arsenal are set to turn to Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, if they miss out on Kylian Mbappe.
The Gunners have made Monaco teen sensation Mbappe their top target - with boss Arsene Wenger allegedly meeting with the hit man.

The £100m rated striker is also being courted by Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and Liverpool, although the north London side are "increasingly confident" of landing him with Wenger desperate to turn him into the new Thierry Henry.
Arsenal are also leading the race to sign Lyon front man Alexandre Lacazette in a club record £44m deal.
But Wenger has added a third France international to his wish list as a precaution for missing out on Mbappe, according to the Mail on Sunday.
The French manager is winning to pay £40m for Martial, although would ask for negotiations to happen above him and long-term advisory Jose Mourinho, fearing their bitter feud would make the move a non-starter.

Martial could be open to a deal having dropped below Marcus Rashford and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the Old Trafford pecking order.
He only managed eight goals in 42 appearances, with just 18 Premier League starts, after his breakthrough debut season where he was the club top scorer with 17 strikes.
Martial became the most expensive teenage when he switched Monaco for United in 2015 - with the Red Devils splashing £36m in a deal which could rise to £58m in add-ons.

Godin: I dream of lifting the cup

Source: FIFA.com Diego Godin has revealed he cannot stop thinking about the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ and expressed his desire to become the first Uruguayan in 68 years to lift the Trophy. Jules Rimet handed it to Obdulio Varela – albeit in bizarre circumstances – at the Maracana in 1950, and though  La Celeste reached the semi-finals on three occasions thereafter, they have never gone further, losing to Hungary in 1954, Brazil in 1970, and the Netherlands in 2010. Eight teams have shorter odds of winning Russia 2018 than Uruguay, but that does not stop the Atletico Madrid centre-back from dreaming big. “There isn’t a day goes by that I stop thinking about the World Cup,” Godin told  Radio Rincón . “I dream of lifting the Trophy – of course, I do. “We qualified for the World Cup well. The important thing is that no-one gets injured, that everyone is right physically.”Godin believes the secret to Uruguay’s prosperity under Oscar Tabarez – t...
