WHY IHEANACHO WAS 'MAD' DURING CHELSEA GAME

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho might have been the youngest player on the pitch during the Manchester City – Chelsea game yesterday but he showed he is not scared to defend his teammate.

The 20-year-old Nigerian was a second half substitute for the Citizens as they chased the game against the high-flying Blues side under the guidance of Antonio Conte. However, there was nothing he could do as the visitors ran away with a 3-1 victory.
During the closing stages of the match, a brawl broke out after former Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero sent Brazilian defender David Luiz rolling on the turf with a career threatening tackle which ensured he got red.
But before he left the pitch he shoved from behind by an angry Chelsea player, Michy Batshuayi that alerted Iheanacho who ran towards the Belgian but before he could confront him, Willian and Thibaut Courtois jumped to the defense of their teammate and prevented the Nigerian from perhaps a third City red after Fernandinho also saw red for violent conduct.
Iheanacho have the opportunity to start Manchester City’s next three games against Leicester City, Watford, and Arsenal as Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho serves a three-match ban.

Jules Rimet handed it to Obdulio Varela – albeit in bizarre circumstances – at the Maracana in 1950, and though  La Celeste reached the semi-finals on three occasions thereafter, they have never gone further, losing to Hungary in 1954, Brazil in 1970, and the Netherlands in 2010. Eight teams have shorter odds of winning Russia 2018 than Uruguay, but that does not stop the Atletico Madrid centre-back from dreaming big. “There isn’t a day goes by that I stop thinking about the World Cup,” Godin told  Radio Rincón . “I dream of lifting the Trophy – of course, I do. “We qualified for the World Cup well. The important thing is that no-one gets injured, that everyone is right physically.”Godin believes the secret to Uruguay’s prosperity under Oscar Tabarez – t...
