John Obi Mikel's wage demands have reportedly ended the interest of Spanish side Valencia.
Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has turned down a move to Spanish La Liga side Valencia after the Spanish club failed to meet his wage demands, reports have claimed.

The 29-year old has been linked with Valencia and a host of other clubs including in China after it emerged he would play little or no part in Chelsea’s season and with his contract up at the end of the season, Valencia and a host of other clubs have reportedly shown interest and according to Allnigeriasoccer.com, Mikel has turned down a move to the La Liga club.
Mikel is yet to play for the Blues in competitive fixtures this term, as he has been out of favour since returning from representing Nigeria at the Olympic Games in  Brazil in the summer and it is almost certain he will finally leave Stamford Bridge after 11 years in West London.
According to the report, Valencia had offered Mikel three million euros wages per season, which was deemed insufficient by the holding midfielder.
Reports also emanated last week claiming the Super Eagles skipper could make a surprise switch to Old Trafford to join Jose Mourinho, but it is increasingly looking like only clubs in China may be able to afford his wage demands.

Source: FIFA.com Diego Godin has revealed he cannot stop thinking about the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ and expressed his desire to become the first Uruguayan in 68 years to lift the Trophy. Jules Rimet handed it to Obdulio Varela – albeit in bizarre circumstances – at the Maracana in 1950, and though  La Celeste reached the semi-finals on three occasions thereafter, they have never gone further, losing to Hungary in 1954, Brazil in 1970, and the Netherlands in 2010. Eight teams have shorter odds of winning Russia 2018 than Uruguay, but that does not stop the Atletico Madrid centre-back from dreaming big. “There isn’t a day goes by that I stop thinking about the World Cup,” Godin told  Radio Rincón . “I dream of lifting the Trophy – of course, I do. “We qualified for the World Cup well. The important thing is that no-one gets injured, that everyone is right physically.”Godin believes the secret to Uruguay’s prosperity under Oscar Tabarez – t...
