Rohr accuses Chelsea of punishing Mikel

Emenalo-Mikel-and-Rohr
The Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles Genort Rohr has echoed the sentiments of many that John Obi Mikel is being 'punished' by Chelsea for skipping the club's pre-season programme to compete for Nigeria at the Rio Olympics.

Mikel was one of the overaged players in the Nigeria team to Rio and he effectively led the Dream Team VI to a podium finish in the men's football event.
Despite his sparkling performance which helped Nigeria a great deal, the midfielder has been frozen out by Coach Antonio Conte who doesn't even include Mikel in his matchday squad.
When put on the spot on why Mikel still gets invitation for national team games despite being inactive at his club, Rohr said he knows the reason why the midfielder does not play for the Blues.
"He is being punished for deciding to go to the Olympics for Nigeria," Rohr told journalists in Uyo.
"He is training well and doing well for us. I cannot punish him for deciding to make a sacrifice for Nigeria." The Franco-German Coach added.
It is yet to be seen if these latest comments will not aggravate the already bad issue.

Source: FIFA.com Diego Godin has revealed he cannot stop thinking about the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ and expressed his desire to become the first Uruguayan in 68 years to lift the Trophy. Jules Rimet handed it to Obdulio Varela – albeit in bizarre circumstances – at the Maracana in 1950, and though  La Celeste reached the semi-finals on three occasions thereafter, they have never gone further, losing to Hungary in 1954, Brazil in 1970, and the Netherlands in 2010. Eight teams have shorter odds of winning Russia 2018 than Uruguay, but that does not stop the Atletico Madrid centre-back from dreaming big. “There isn’t a day goes by that I stop thinking about the World Cup,” Godin told  Radio Rincón . “I dream of lifting the Trophy – of course, I do. “We qualified for the World Cup well. The important thing is that no-one gets injured, that everyone is right physically.”Godin believes the secret to Uruguay’s prosperity under Oscar Tabarez – t...
