Zlatan Ibrahimovic runs the risk of being punished by UEFA after he appeared to grab the throat of Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer.
The Manchester United striker could face a retroactive punishment for his behavior as the Red Devils slumped to yet another defeat.
Ibrahimovic was involved in a heated exchange with Kjaer, grabbing the Danish defender by the throat and shouting in his ear.
The former Paris Saint Germain striker had earlier come off the bench to replace the injured Paul Pogba during Manchester United's Europa League clash on Thursday, and it didn't take him long to leave his mark on the game.
But referee Milorad Mažić appeared to miss the incident and failed to take any action as a result.
UEFA officials, however, are likely to review footage of the clash.
Meanwhile, United manager has ripped into midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan following the 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahce in the Europa League last night.
The Armenian replaced Marcus Rashford in the 61st minute when United were already 2-0 down and gave the ball away in midfield that nearly led to Emmanuel Emenike making it 3-0 but David de Gea made a save.
“We have big expectations at this club, we have lots of players for this position and he has to play better than [Juan] Mata, [Jesse] Lingard and [Anthony] Martial - he has to play better than them and it's as simple as that,” Mourinho said.
“Every manager in the world wants to win matches, every manager wants to play the players that he thinks can help the team more and I am not different.”
