LUIS GARCIA TROLLS MOURINHO AND CHELSEA WITH 'GHOST GOAL' HALLOWEEN PHOTO

0 The former midfielder delighted Liverpool supporters with his Halloween effort, poking fun at the current Man Utd boss over the infamous Champions League strike. Luis Garcia has officially won Halloween. The former Liverpool midfielder will have brought back painful memories for Jose Mourinho and Chelsea fans after he posted a hilarious nod to the infamous "ghost goal" incident from the 2004-05 season. Garcia, and more specifically referee Lubos Michel, riled Mourinho after the Spaniard's goal was allowed to stand in the Champions League semifinal, despite television replays being inconclusive over whether the ball had crossed the line. And in a comical post published on Instagram, the 38-year-old has dressed up as a ghost to mark Halloween, poking fun at Mourinho as he stands with a ball on the goal line.

HOW MAN CITY AND BARCA WILL LINE UP FOR THEIR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SHOWDOWN

0 The two teams will have to make changes from their meeting almost a fortnight ago, when the Catalans ran out 4-0 winners thanks to Lionel Messi's hat trick. Sergio Aguero is expected to return to the Manchester City starting lineup for the game against Barcelona on Tuesday. Aguero was left on the bench at Camp Nou a fortnight ago as Pep Guardiola went with Kevin De Bruyne up front. But Aguero's two goals — and overall performance — at West Brom on Saturday have persuaded Guardiola to include him for this match. City will not use a back three against Barca, but it is unclear exactly who will start in defense. Fernando played at right back on Saturday but only because of injuries to Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna, and because Guardiola deemed West Brom too strong for 19-year-old Maffeo. The youngster could well deputize against Barca, however, although Zabaleta trained on Tuesday. In midfield, De Bruyne may have to play out wide to accommodate Ilkay Gu

SCHWEINSTEIGER PICTURED TRAINING WITH MAN UTD FIRST TEAM

0 The German midfielder has been frozen out of the picture under Jose Mourinho but has been pictured training alongside the Red Devils' senior stars. Bastian Schweinsteiger has endured a difficult period at Manchester United since Jose Mourinho inherited the managerial reins, with the Portuguese coach having completely overlooked the Germany international. The 32-year-old midfielder was made aware early on that he played no part in the Red Devils’ long-term plans, while his absence from the club’s official team photo and reported barring from reserve team outings fueled further talk of an impending exit. Has there, however, been a remarkable thawing of relations, with Mourinho offering an unexpected olive branch to the World Cup winner? Well, if these images from United’s training session Monday are anything to go by, then Schweinsteiger is certainly a   part of the first-team fold. It is, of course, one thing to be pictured alongside Wayne Rooney at Carringt

Conte bans Chelsea stars from looking at the table

Antonio Conte's Chelsea have been in good form lately. Antonio Conte has banned his Chelsea stars from talking about winning the Premier League until after Christmas following their2-0 win over Southampton on Sunday. The Blues continued their impressive Premier League run as goals from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa saw them stay within a point of the leaders after 10 games. And speaking after the game, Conte said: “At this moment, it’s not important for us to look at the table. We are in a good position, but it’s not important. “We know that the road is long. I have confidence because we can improve. We can improve a lot. Not look at the table. “But, if you ask me a prediction or an expectation of our championship, now it’s very difficult to talk about this. “It’s important to pass many games in the first part of this season. And then you can see if you can stay up there in the title race. “We are not looking at the table, but continuing just to work. You can judge

HAZARD & COSTA ARE INCREDIBLE BUT IN MOSES CHELSEA HAS THE PERFECT WING MAN

0 y The 25-year-old Nigerian is discovering his true potential in Antonio Conte's 3-4-3 formation and could be vital if the Blues are to win the Premier League title come May.  Antonio Conte’s decision to introduce Victor Moses into his Chelsea side has proved to be an inspired one. The winger was instrumental in the Blues’ 2-0 win at Southampton on Sunday evening, moving the club to within a point of Manchester City in the Premier League table. Chelsea’s upturn in form since Moses has featured is no coincidence. Since the Nigerian has taken up the right wing back berth in Conte’s new-found 3-4-3 formation, the Blues have won four from four, beating Hull, Leicester, Manchester United and Southampton, without conceding a goal. During the Blues’ trip to St Mary’s, Gary Neville made a throwaway comment suggesting keeping clean sheets is down to mentality. Moses went some way to proving the former Manchester United right back correct. Conte’s pronounced actions on the

GERRARD AND LAMPARD TO JOIN ENGLAND STAFF?

0 The former Three Lions midfielders both currently play in the United States and are determined to get their coaching badge courses ahead of the usual four-year process. The Football Association has offered both Steven Gerrad and Frank Lampard a fast track into football management. The former Three Lions midfielders currently play in MLS, and are determined to get their coaching badge courses started, as the process can last up to four years. FA chiefs are carrying out their plan to improve the state of English football and are hoping Gerrard and Lampard sign on in the MLS offseason.

VERRATTI REVEALS REAL MADRID SNUB

0 The 23-year-old says he was pleased to hear of interest from the Spanish giant but opted to stay with the French champion because he was happy at the club. Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has revealed he turned down the chance to discuss a move to Real Madrid after Los Blancos expressed an interest in the Italy international. Verratti’s future at PSG has long been the subject of speculation and continues to be despite the midfielder only signing a new five-year deal back in August. The 23-year-old says he has already opted to stay at Parc des Princes in favor of a move to La Liga but admits he was flattered to hear of interest from the Spanish giant. “It’s not that I technically turned Real Madrid down, it’s that when I am happy in a team, I don’t even want to begin negotiations with another club,” he told  Rai Sport . “I learned of Real Madrid interest and that was pleasing, because it doesn’t happen every day that Real Madrid ask after you, but when

COSTA BEATS AGUERO TO 40 PREMIER LEAGUE GOALS

0 The Spain international became the sixth fastest player to reach the milestone following his second half goal against Southampton on Sunday. Chelsea's Diego Costa scored his 40th Premier League goal in his 64th appearance; seven games earlier than Sergio Aguero. The Spain international struck the Blues' second goal in their 2-0 win at Southampton on Sunday evening, curling a 30-yard effort past Fraser Forster in the Saints net. It was Costa's eighth Premier League goal of the season, putting Antonio Conte's men just a point behind Manchester City following four straight wins. Costa is the sixth-fastest player to reach the milestone.

Romelu Lukaku scores Lukaku becomes the third Everton player to score 50 Premier League goals

Everton ended a sequence of five matches without a win with a scrappy victory against a West Ham side who remain close to the relegation zone. Romelu Lukaku put Everton ahead, heading home from close range for his seventh Premier League goal against the Hammers. Everton improved as the match progressed and Ross Barkley, under scrutiny this season for some inconsistent performances, capped a fine display with a half-volley that secured the points for the hosts. West Ham, who had been unbeaten in October, had chances and were the better side in the first half but were left to rue Angelo Ogbonna's miss, which could have given the visitors the lead. Despite their recent revival - the Hammers were aiming for a third consecutive league victory - Slaven Bilic's men remain just three points above the relegation places as they continue to pay the price for four straight losses at the start of the season. Barkley, Bolasie and Lukaku shine Before the game, Everton manager Ro

OUT WITH THE OLD: RASHFORD MUST REPLACE ZLATAN IN MAN UTD NO.9 ROLE

0 The Red Devils are famed for producing incredible talent — so why is Jose Mourinho wasting one of their most promising prodigies on the wing? Why is Marcus Rashford playing on the wing? It’s a pointless exercise. He’s either a key part of this Manchester United team or he’s not. Jose Mourinho is currently making a token effort. First-team football for the 18-year-old is no use if it’s coming on the periphery and not at the center of operations. Mourinho rightly came under pressure to include the teen prodigy after leaving him out of Manchester United’s first two league games entirely. It wasn’t until that late winner against Hull City that the Portuguese seemed truly convinced by his unique match-winning qualities. Even so, he won’t permit Rashford to play in his favored striking position, instead opting to field him either side of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the flanks. It’s a positive that Mourinho is playing him by choice as usually only extreme injury problems would force h

DIDIER DROGBA WILL MISS FIRST LEG OF CONFERENCE SEMIFINAL AGAINST RED BULLS

0 As the Montreal Impact get set to host the New York Red Bulls in the first leg of the MLS Conference Semifinals, Didier Drogba's remains out with a back injury. MONTREAL —Didier Drogba's attempt to be fit in time for the Eastern Conference semifinal first leg has come up short.  Drogba’s playing status was still unknown Saturday afternoon, as the Montreal Impact began their final practice before taking on the New York Red Bulls Sunday at Stade Saputo in the opening leg of the Eastern Conference semifinals. However, news broke on the east coast early Sunday morning that the striker would not suit up for the contest.  After running for 30 minutes on Friday, coach Mauro Biello told reporters at Stade Saputo that Drogba still felt some pain in his back, a problem that has been nagging him over the past two weeks. The Ivorian didn't take part in the first 15 minutes of training, which was open to the media, and whether or not he participated afterwards was not di

Mikel, Musa, 22 others in Nigeria squad list to face Algeria

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has called up captain Mikel John Obi, assistant captain Ahmed Musa, goalkeeper Carl Ikeme and 21 others for next month’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against the Fennecs of Algeria in Uyo.  While he has retained the bulk of the squad that defeated Zambia 2-1 in Ndola earlier this month to establish Nigeria at the top of Group B of the African race. The Franco-German tactician has also beefed up the playing body with in –form Israeli –based midfielder John Ogu and Nigeria’s top scorer at the Olympic Men’s Football Tournament in Brazil, Oghenekaro Etebo. Germany –based defender Leon Balogun, back from injury, also returns while English Premiership stars Victor Moses and Odion Ighalo are also called. Former junior international goalkeeper Dele Alampasu and Dutch –based defender Tyrone Ebuehi are also invited. The invited players are expected to start arriving at the team’s Bolton White Apartment in Abuja on Sunday, 6th November. The S

Ranieri Impressed With “Strong” Musa After Goal Vs Spurs

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has praised Ahmed Musa for the way the  Nigeria forward took his goal in the Foxes' 1-1 Premier League draw at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Musa equalised for Leicester off a Jamie Vardy assist after Vincent Janssen had given Spurs the lead from the penalty spot. It was Musa's second goal of the season in back-to-back games. Musa's good form has arrived just in time for Nigeria's key World Cup qualifier against Algeria on 12 November.  In his post-match comments, Ranieri admitted Musa is beginning to come to grips with the English Premier League. "Musa is a good player and slowly starting to understand the Premier League. He saw the ball arrive and was very strong," Ranieri said. The Italian coach went on to describe Leicester's general play as outstanding against Spurs. "I'm pleased with the point, our performance and our spirit. We played together and we fought together. Outstanding

ATLETICO MADRID 4-2 MALAGA: GAMEIRO & CARRASCO AT THE DOUBLE IN SIX-GOAL THRILLER

0 Diego Simeone's men were reduced to 10 men after the break but remained in control of the clash to keep up the chase at the top of La Liga. Atletico Madrid bounced back from defeat at Sevilla with Kevin Gameiro and Yannick Carrasco each scoring twice in a 4-2 win over Malaga despite Stefan Savic's second-half sending off threatening to derail a strong performance. The reverse last time out at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan was their first defeat of the season in any competition, and although two-goal Gameiro led the way in an excellent display before the break, Savic's sending off almost saw their hard work go to waste. In-form Carrasco broke the deadlock with his fifth goal in four games across all competitions and Gameiro doubled their advantage – both goals showcasing Malaga's frailty at the back. The visitors pulled one back with a Sandro Ramirez free-kick which had more than a hint of fortune about it, though the two-goal advantage was soon restor

POCHETTINO: HARD TO ACCEPT TOTTENHAM DROPPING POINTS

0 The Spurs boss could not hide his frustration after his side settled for a 1-1 draw with Leicester City, saying the only thing missing from the performance was the winner. Mauricio Pochettino voiced his frustration following Tottenham's 1-1 Premier League draw with Leicester City on Saturday but had praise for Vincent Janssen. The Dutchman scored his first league goal for Spurs with a first-half penalty, but Ahmed Musa salvaged a point for the visitors just three minutes after the restart. It is the fifth time in 10 top-flight matches that unbeaten Spurs have been held, and they have not won since overcoming Manchester City on Oct. 2. "I am disappointed," Pochettino said. "We created chances, we dominated the game, but I am disappointed with the way we conceded the goal. It's hard to lose two points. I was disappointed for the goal as the way we conceded was a little unlucky. "I am happy with the performance. We are still strong and unbea

BORUSSIA DORTMUND 0-0 SCHALKE: RUHR DERBY ENDS IN STALEMATE

0 The coach racked up his fourth straight Bundesliga clash without victory as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's return failed to inspire the hosts. Thomas Tuchel equalled his longest winless streak in the Bundesliga as Borussia Dortmund coach thanks to a 0-0 Revierderby draw against Schalke at Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund went into the clash with their arch-rivals having failed to triumph in their past three top-flight outings, a run they have only twice experienced since Tuchel took over at the start of the 2015-16 season. Despite the return of star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who missed the midweek penalty shoot-out victory over Union Berlin in the DFB-Pokal with a calf injury, they were unable to avoid a fourth match without maximum points. Schalke applied early pressure on Dortmund and stifled their usually positive forward line, the first half ending without the hosts registering a shot on target. A knee ligament injury ruled Klaas-Jan Huntelaar out for

CRYSTAL PALACE 2-4 LIVERPOOL: REDS EDGE THRILLER AT SELHURST PARK

0 Jurgen Klopp's charges were twice pegged back by goals from James McArthur but they managed to keep on firing to down the Eagles and secure all three points on Saturday. Liverpool edged another six-goal thriller at Crystal Palace 4-2 in a game that owed its thrilling nature to the Reds' wild inconsistencies. Palace at Selhurst Park remains a fixture to strike fear into the hearts of Liverpool supporters after the costly 3-3 draw in 2014 that sent Brendan Rodgers' Premier League title hopes up in smoke. Jurgen Klopp's current vintage are hinting that another tilt at the trophy could be on, and hanging onto three points here could end up being crucial. Philippe Coutinho was at the heart of Liverpool's exceptional attacking and he started a flowing one-touch move that Emre Can finished to open the scoring. Dippy defending from Dejan Lovren cost his side a pair of James McArthur goals, but he scored in between and defensive partner Joel Matip al
